Warm Up Fixtures Shifted from Pallekele to Colombo Due to Heavy Rains in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Due to recent heavy rains in central Sri Lanka; pitch preparations for warm up matches at Pallekele effected badly due to which the warm up matches of Sri Lanka/Netherlands and Netherland/Kenya have been shifted Colombo.

The warm up matches were scheduled on Saturday (Feb. 13) and Tuesday (Feb. 15) will now be played at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. This shifting of matches will deprive co-host Sri Lanka of any practice at new pitches ahead of ICC World Cup, just a week distant now.

A plan to play the matches on another new venue, the southern district of Hambantota, was also discarded due to rain.
