ICC CWC 2011 - - Final Fifteen of Team India Without Rohit Sharma and Sreesanth


CHENNAI - Kris Srikkanth, chief selector of BCCI selection committee, along with three other members of the committee announced the final fifteen members of the Team India for the mega event, almost week away now. MS Dhoni has maintained his position as the captain and Virender Sehwag was named as vice captain.

Promising young batsman Rohit Sharma and pacer Sreesanth couldn’t make to the final-15 of team India; while spinner Piyush Chawla made his surprising entry for the ICC Cricekt World Cup, surely a dream event for every cricketer specially the youngsters looking forward their careers ahead. 

The Indian team for the World Cup Cricket 2011 tournament includes:

  1. MS Dhoni (capt),
  2. Virender Sehwag(vice capt),
  3. Sachin Tendulkar,
  4. Gautam Gambhir,
  5. Virat Kohli,
  6. Yuvraj Singh,
  7. Suresh Raina,
  8. Yusuf Pathan,
  9. Harbhajan Singh,
  10. R. Ashwin,
  11. Piyush Chawla,
  12. Zaheer Khan,
  13. Ashish Nehra,
  14. Munaf Patel and

India placed in Group B is one of the top contestants of ICC World Cup 2011. The other teams in the group are South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Ireland. During the 43 days long event, a total of 49 matches including semi finals and final matches will be played in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The 10th edition of the World Cup Cricket is going to start from February 19 at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka whereas the final will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 2.
