England v South Africa (Group B) Pitch Report - England Decided to Bat First After Winning the Toss

CHENNAI – South Africa to take on England in a Group B match; big match for England at Chennai today. A must-win tie for England to qualify for quarter-finals.

England have won the toss and elected to bat first with Ravi Bopara replacing veteran Paul Collingwood; while South Africa will come out with the same combination as in the last match.

Pitch was analysed by Sir Ian Botham and he said, “What you expect in Chaennai is ‘Humidity’, and pitch is flat and hard having dead grass on it. Ball might swing little bit in the early stages; but spinners will be successful overall. The side who will win the toss will bat first as the pitch; look like a batting paradise.”
