Group 'A' Team Positions After Australia Beat Zimbabwe by 60 Runs (Match Summary)

BANGALORE – Zimbabwe put up a decent fight before going down by 60 runs here at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru against defending champion Australia.

Kenyans first time in the tournament made their opponents fight hard for the win and that were none other than Australians.

Chasing a big total of 325 they showed a real fight against one of the top bowling attack in the world. They had not a very good start but the fourth wicket partnership of 116 runs between Collins Obuya (98*) and Tanmay Mishra (72) helped them to set a good decent fight against Aussies. In the last moment Thomas Odoyo’s quick fired 35 runs made the world champions nervous to some extent. But Kenya just managed to get to 264 ran short of 61 from their target. Hats off to Kenya.

Earlier, Australia piled up a hug total of 324 with the help of multiple good performance by Michael Clarke (93), Brad Haddin (65) and Michael Hussey (54).
Collins Obuya was named man of the match for the hard-fought unbeaten 98. Australia climbs up a step on the points table with 7 points after 4 matches.
