Canadian Captain, Ashish Bagai, Appreciated Pakistani Counterpart Shahid Afridi

COLOMBO - Ashish Bagai, Canadian captain, commended his Pakistani counterpart, Shahid Afridi, after he played a key role in the survival of Pakistan against a most likely upset of the World cup the other night.

Canada sacked Pakistan for a miserable 184 before going down from 104-3 to 138 all out in 42.5 overs, losing the match by 46 runs on Thursday at R. Premadasa stadium.

Shahid Afridi blew away Canada with figures of 5-23, including a rupture of four wickets off 17 balls in his second spell, taking his total tally of wickets to 14, the most in the world cup up to date.

Ashish Bagai talking to media said, “We started off with the approach of trying to milk him for 30-35 runs, but once he gets wickets he gets right on top of you.”

“He gets his variations going and then it gets harder and harder,” he further added.
