MUMBAI – New Zealand pulled off an easy victory over Canada by 97 runs. Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor played tremendous innings. McCullum completed his 3rd ODI century today.
Ross Taylor started from where he ended against Pakistan showing his impeccable form with the bat scoring quick fired 74 in just 44 balls.
Canada never tried to win the match and stuck with the match to play total 50 overs and just succeeded with one wicket remaining. Canadian skipper Ashish Bagai scored 84 while Jimmy Hansra was unbeaten on 70 when Canada completed their 50 overs.
New Zealand climbed up to first position on the Group A with eight points after playing 5 matches. Sri Lanka is on the second spot with 7 points with as many matches followed by Pakistan and Australia. Australia is involved in their fourth match against Kenya and after winning (most probably with 324 on the scoreboard) will get the second position with seven points.
