MELBOURNE, Australia - Australia’s run for ICC Cricket World Cup is being hampered even before the start of month of the mega event, February. Australia was already suffering from the injuries of its World Cup Squad’s key players like Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey, Nathan Hauritz and Shaun Tait. Now just to multiply the woes of Australians, who are just recovering from the Ashes’ wounds after winning ODI series against England, another injury struck in the shape of Shaun Marsh, the hero of the second ODI of the ongoing Commonwealth Bank Series.
Reportedly; left-handed middle-order batsman, Shaun Marsh, injured a hamstring while batting during Australia's 51-run vicroty over England in the 5th ODI on Sunday.
Even captain Ricky Ponting, who is nursing a finger injury, is not sure to be fit in time for Australia's first game in the mega event, which means Marsh could have been drafted in the touring party in place of either Ponting or Hussey.
As Shaun Marsh was expected to cover one of the injured players; therefore, if he would be ruled out after through medical scrutiny then Australian cricket will have a real set back just ahead of World Cup.
