Batting prowess Jacques Kallis was named in South Africa's World Cup squad on Tuesday despite missing the current series against India due to a rib injury. The 35-year-old all-rounder is also a top-class seam bowler, allowing the team to play a specialist batsman at seven.
Jacques Kallis's presence will strengthen a South African batting line-up which seemed quite ordinary in the last two matches against India in the ongoing series.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Morne van Wyk, who cracked South Africa's quickest Twenty20 half-century two weeks ago, is the only named player who was not part of the squad for the first three one-day internationals against India.
The only controversial exclusion is the Veteran wicketkeeper Mark Boucher, who is still a senior member of the test team.
