ICC Cricket World Cup preparations of Kenya got off to a dismal start as they were thrashed by a Gujarat Cricket Association XI in a one-day game in Ahmedabad.
Batting first, Gujarat, captained by international wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel, recovered from 21 for three and 87 for four to post 264 for six before Kenya could only reach 226 for nine in reply.
Manprit Juneja's 117 in 136 balls underpinned the stunning comeback for the home side and he was given excellent support from Chirag Gandhi, who made 64.
Thomas Odoyo, who took two of the three early wickets, returned two for 43, but Kenya were unable to maintain their early advantage.
With the bat, they failed to build partnerships, aside from when Tanmay Mishra (46) and Steve Tikolo (42) looked to be on course for big scores, but they needed one of them to go on, as Juneja had earlier in the day.
In the end, they were undone as they lost wickets too regularly to keep up with the required run-rate.
