Tim Bresnan Scolded While England Team Fined for Slow Over-rate in Thrilling Tie Against India

BANGALORE, India – International Cricket Council (ICC) has scolded England pacer Tim Bresnan for smashing the stumps with his bat after getting out to Piyush Chawla at the last moments of the Sunday’s dramatic World Cup tie against India.

Moreover, England team have been fined for a slow over-rate in the breathtaking tie at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Tim Bresnan received the minimum penalty; he could have been fined up to 50 percent of his match fee, because he reacted apparently in frustration with himself.

The England team were fined for a slow over-rate, deemed to be one over short of their target at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration.

England skipper Andrew Strauss, who made a career-best 158, was fined 20 percent of his fee while his players received 10 percent fines.
