In the first match, Pune Warriors handed upset defeat to Mumbai Indians by 28 runs with the help of brave 39-run innings by Steven Smith that helped Pune to get a competitive score of 129 on board, which ultimately proved too much in front of disciplined bowling effort by Pune bowlers, led by Ashok Dinda who claimed 4 wicket.

In the second match of the day; Rajastha Royals’ Ajinkya Rahane played an explosive innings of 98 runs off just 66 balls that helped his team piling up massive total of 191 in 20 overs.
