CHANDIGARH, India (Thu, Apr 26) – Indian Premier League (IPL
2012) is almost at half line and top teams, like Delhi Daredevils (DD), Kolkata
Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), are cementing their
supremacy to get on the top of points table.
IPL 2012 (Apr 26) MI v KXIP: Ambati Rayudu stars the show -- Latest Points Table |
Yesterday (22nd day of the ongoing T20 tournament)
two matches were scheduled but second match was abandoned due to heavy pouring and
the points are distributed between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai
Super Kings (CSK).
IPL lovers, especially Chris Gayle’s die-hard fans, might
have been disappointed by the match abandoning; but the fact just helped both
teams to move upward on the points table. RCB has moved from 6th to
4th; while CSK has jumped to 3rd spot right from 5th.
The first match of the day between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)
and Mumbai Indian (MI) was also proved to be a real T20 thriller; as Mumbai
emerges as the victorious in the end. Brilliant half century by Rohit Sharma
(50 off 30) and almost perfect finishing by Ambati Rayudu (34 off 17) led
Mumbai to much needed victory after losing last two matches in the row. First
one, they lost against Delhi Daredevils on April 16 and the second one against KXIP
on April 22.
Mumbai got the most important 2 points but couldn’t improve
their position on points table, placed at 7th spot. Complete team
positions and updated points table are presented above.
