Hyderabad – Two matches were played on the 17th day (April 24) of Indian Premier League (IPL 2011). First match was played between Deccan Chargers vs Mumbai Indians and the second match was played between Rajasthan Royals vs Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
First match was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad; but the visitors beat the hosts comfortable with 37 runs. Mumbai Indians were invited to bat first and they pile up 172 which too good to get for the hosts. Fifth wicket parteneship of 102 runs between Rohit Sharma (56) and Andrew Symonds (44) was the highlight of Mumbai Indians innings. Lasith Malinga took three wickets for Mumbai Indians and named man of the match.
Second match was played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur; and the hosts won the match comprehensively with eight wickets. Hosts won the toss and invited Kochi Tuskers to bat first. Shane Warne and Siddharth Trivedi took three wickets each to send visitors back to pavilion with just 109 on the board. Then with the opening partnership of 71 runs; Rajasthan Royals never looked in any kind of trouble to achieve the total comfortably with almost 7 overs to spare. Shane Warne was named man of the match.
