Pak v Eng (1st Test, Day 3) - Pakistan outshine World No. 1 England by 10 wickets

DUBAI, UAE (Jan. 19) – Pakistan won the first Test against England by a huge margin of 10 wickets on the third day of the match here at Dubai Sports Complex, Dubai. Muhammad Hafeez struck boundary to take the score to 15 needed for the victory as England were all out for 160 in the second innings giving only 15-runs target to Pakistan for victory in the first Test.

Graeme Swann was the last wicket to fall off Saeed Ajmal who took his tally to 10 wickets in this match. James Anderson stood unbeaten at 15. 

England has a nightmarish start yet again in the second innings but this time man in-charge was experienced Umar Gul who struck early not once or twice but thrice, picking up wickets of Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen at 25.

Umar Gul bruises the England’s hope to control the things after they fought back quite impressively and succeeded to curtail Pakistan on just 338 in the first session on third day of the first Test.

Veteran pacer Umar Gul led the proceedings for Pakistan in this innings and picked up 4 wickets giving away 63 runs. First innings destroyer Saeed Ajmal has also picked up three wickets while Abdur Rehman struck at the later stages to claim three wickets. 

Deficient with 146 runs England kept on losing wickets for regular intervals after losing their Skipper Andrew Strauss on just 6 on board and no batsman, other than Jonathan Trott, able to play Pakistani bowlers with confidence. Once Trott got his way back to pavilion the things changed completely for England.

Graeme Swann gets another life when he was declared LBW by umpire but review shows Umar Gul bowling a no-ball; but Stuart Broad was caught on the mid-on by Asad Shafiq off Abdur Rehman. Chris Tremlett also didn’t last long and caught in slips by Muhammad Hafeez off Rehman once again. 

Pakistan resumed their first innings today at 288/7 and added 50 more runs that helped drag the score to 338 to take a substantial led on 146 which is proving to be more then enough right now for England. 

Saeed Ajmal was named man of the match for 10-wicket haul in thw match.
