Pakistan cricket is currently suffering from spot-fixing fever and unable to finalize the list of initial 30 players to be forwarded to ICC before the deadline ending on Sunday, December 19, 2010. Therefore PCB had to request ICC for extension of the deadline. Three important players, including Muhammad Aamir, Muhammad Asif and former captain Salman Butt are waiting for their fate to be decided by ICC in the hearing next month.
After the request of date extension from PCB; the ICC has extended Pakistan's deadline to submit a preliminary squad of 30 players for next year's World Cup until Jan. 5.
Rest of the world cup participants have to forward their initial squads to cricket's governing body by Sunday.
The integrity committee of the PCB said Wednesday it needed more time for further consideration relating to the clearance of players.
The ICC has suspended three Pakistan cricketers over “spot-fixing” allegations. Their hearing is scheduled in January 2011 in Doha, Qatar.
