Karachi Dolphins Beat Sialkot Stallions by 42 Runs |
FAISALABAD, Pakistan (June 30) – In the second semifinal of the Faysal Bank Super Eight T-20 Tournament Karachi Dolphins beat Sialkot Stallions by 42 Runs to meet Rawalpindi Rams in the final scheduled to be played tomorrow (Friday/July 1).
Karachi Dolphins won the toss and elected to bat first. Asad Shafiq, despite losing his opening partner on early stages, played an unbeaten innings of 91 runs off 55 balls to pile up a score of 238/5 for Sialkot Stallions. An even better innings came from Rameez RajaRameez Raja (Jr.) smashing quick fire 97 runs off just 45 balls with 11 boundaries and 5 sixes.
Sarmad Anwar and AliAli Khan picked up two wickets each for Sialkot Stallions.
Wicket of blazing opener Imran NazirImran Nazir fell in very first over that left Stallions in big trouble. Two more quick wickets of Mansoor Amjad (9) and Shakeel Ansar (9) doubled the problems for Sialkot. In the Middle order Shahid Yousuf (40), Captain Shoaib MalikShoaib Malik (61) and Ali Khan (24) played good knocks but not enough to achieve the gigantic target set by Karachi Dolphins. All the team sent back to pavilion on 196 runs in 18.5 overs.
Sohail Kahan was the pick of the bowlers for Karachi Dolphins who picked up four important wickets, including Shoaib Malik, in his four overs conceding just 18 runs. Muhammad Sami and Azam Hussain claimed two wickets each.
Rameez Raja was named man of the match for his blazing innings of 97 runs.
