Earlier India West Indies ’ innings under control after winning the toss and invited the the visitors’ to bat first. West Indies kept on losing wickets from the second over of their innings and at one point were struggling at 63/5 in 17th over.
West Indian opener Lendl Simmons played an anchor innings until he got run out at 170 in 36th over. He made 78 runs off 102 balls. Kieron Pollard also played a handy knock of 35 runs off 30 balls; but the pick of West Indian innings was Ravi Rampaul, who played an unbeaten knock of 86 (66) with an amazing strike rate of more than 130. Kemar Roach support Rampual with his 24-run innings.
Umesh Yadav picked up three wickets; while Vinay Kumar and Raviindra Jadeja claimed two wickets each. Ravichandran Ashwin also claimed one wicket for India
The West Indies have set a great platform to level the series and will certainly take the field with sky-high confidence. The target would really be challenging for India
