Faysal Bank Super Eight T-20 Tournament - Karachi Dolphins Handed an Upset Defeat by Multan Tigers

Multan Tigers Stuns Karachi Dolphins
FAISALABAD, Pakistan (June 26) – The Faysal Bank Super Eight T-20 Tournament is going on in Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad. Two matches are scheduled today and one of them is already finished with a big upset as Multan Tigers have clinched a thriller from top-runner Karachi Dolphins by 14 runs.

Multan Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first which proved a right decision at the end. Tigers’ opener Zain Abbas played a blazing knock of 85 runs off 65 balls that helped Multan Tigers to pile up a target of 162/6, which ultimately proved too much for experienced side of Karachi Dolphins.

Sohail Khan and Haaris Ayaz claimed two wickets each for Karachi Dolphins.

In the chase of a modest total of 162; Karachi Dolphins lost their powerful opener Shahzaib Hasan very early but experienced Khalid Latif (51) struck back to revitalize the hopes of Dolphins. Rameez Raja also played a handy knock of 40 runs off 33 balls; but once both of these players left the crease the target was started to look like mighty Himalayan for Karachi Dolphins. No one in the middle order and lower order succeeded to threat impressive bowling efforts of Multan Tigers.

Zulfiqar Babar picked up 4 wickets in his 4 overs conceding just 18 runs; while Muhammad Irfan took three wickets giving away 24 runs.

Zain Abbas and Zulfiqar Babar were named players of the match for their respective contributions in batting and bowling departments.
