Chittagong City Government Will Pay Beggars During World Cup to Be Away From Venue

Chittagong, Bangladesh - As Bangladesh is co-hosting the World Cup along with India and Sri Lanka and Chittagong will be the one of the venue in Bangladesh for World Cup matches. 

Chittagong’s authorities have devised a plan to help protect foreign spectators and media-men from the outburst of beggars. According to reports almost 300 beggars will be paid about $2 (£1.20) a day for three months to compensate them for their loss of earning.

Mansur Alam, Chittagong Mayor, further told that the beggars would also be given a chance to move into rehabilitation centres.
